A special team from the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) carried out a midnight search operation at the home of Dr. Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin, who was recently arrested in connection with terror-related charges. The search took place at Fourth View Colony, Rajendranagar, late on Tuesday night.
According to reports, a five-member ATS team, led by an Additional Superintendent of Police, searched the house for nearly one and a half hours. During the operation, officials reportedly seized three types of liquid chemicals, a computer, several books, a machine used for oil extraction, and some important documents.
Sources said the ATS served a notice to Dr. Mohiuddin’s brother, Umar Farooqui, before starting the search.
Family’s Clarification
Speaking to the media, Umar Farooqui confirmed that the search was conducted only once—around midnight on Tuesday—and that no further raids have taken place.
He said, “The ATS came to our house at midnight, conducted the search, and then left. They have not returned since. There is no new action happening now.”
Umar also mentioned that his brother Dr. Mohiuddin runs a shawarma restaurant named ‘Galaxy’ near Pillar No. 122 in Rajendranagar, which was also searched by police the same night.
He added that the family had no knowledge of his brother’s technology use or social media activities.
No Official Police Statement Yet
The Gujarat ATS has not yet released an official statement regarding the search or the ongoing investigation. However, the late-night operation has caused tension and curiosity in the local area, with residents discussing the sudden police presence.
