GHMC to Launch Mobile App for Streetlight Maintenance

Hyderabad, 26 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is introducing a new mobile app to improve the maintenance of streetlights across the city. GHMC Commissioner Ilambarithi announced this initiative, aiming to resolve complaints about dark areas in various localities.

To ensure effective implementation, GHMC officials and staff received training on streetlight management at the GHMC headquarters. The app will record details of electric poles, streetlights, meters, and the Centralized Control and Monitoring System (CCMS) panels. Each electric pole will have a unique identification number to help track and fix recurring issues.

Through the app, staff can quickly identify the location of complaints and address them efficiently. The agency representatives demonstrated how to upload data, conduct streetlight audits, and manage repairs. Additional Commissioner Shivakumar Naidu and other officials attended the training session.
