Sankranti Holidays Declared for Schools and Colleges in Telangana

The Telangana government has officially announced Sankranti holidays for all schools across the state.

As per the academic calendar 2025–26, all government, private, and government-aided schools will observe six days of holidays from January 10 (Friday) to January 16 (Thursday). Including Sunday, students will get a total of seven days of holidays.

The order was issued on January 5 by Director of School Education, Telangana, Dr. Naveen Nicholas.

Schools will reopen on January 17 (Friday).

Officials said this will be the last long vacation for students in the current academic year, as SSC and Intermediate annual examinations are scheduled to be held in March and April.

Parents and students have welcomed the announcement as it allows families to celebrate the Sankranti festival together.
