Israel’s PM Netanyahu Orders Powerful Strikes on Gaza, Breaks Ceasefire Promise – Hamas Says Israel Lying to Justify War

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered “immediate and powerful” strikes on Gaza, accusing Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, Netanyahu stated that the Israeli military has been directed to launch strong attacks in response to what he called Hamas’s failure to honor the peace terms. However, Israeli officials did not specify when or where the strikes would take place.
The Israeli government claims that Hamas has yet to return the bodies of 13 hostages who died in Gaza. Hamas, in response, said it needs heavy machinery, ground assistance, and expert teams to retrieve the bodies buried under tons of rubble.
Hamas also pointed out that mediators and world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, are aware that retrieving the remains buried deep beneath the debris of war is a complex and time-consuming task.
According to CNN, Israeli authorities recently stated that a coffin handed over by Hamas on Monday did not contain any of the 13 missing hostages. Forensic tests later revealed that the remains belonged to Ofir Tzarafati, whose body was already recovered in late 2023.
In its response, Hamas accused Israel of fabricating false pretexts to justify new military operations in Gaza. It claimed that Israel is deliberately obstructing recovery efforts and urged mediators to allow humanitarian work to continue without political interference.
Hamas reaffirmed its commitment to the ceasefire agreement brokered by the U.S., Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, but emphasized that external assistance is still required to locate the remaining bodies from the two-year-long conflict.
It’s worth noting that on October 25, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that if Hamas failed to return the hostages’ bodies, the peace process could be jeopardized. In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump stated, “We have established a strong peace in the Middle East, and I believe it has the potential to last — but only if all sides honor their commitments.”
