Stand-up Comedian Kunal Kamra Refuses to Apologize for Remarks on Eknath Shinde

Mumbai, 25 March – (www.deccanlive.com): Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has refused to apologize for his controversial remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, despite growing criticism.

Kamra condemned the demolition of a studio in Mumbai and took to social media platform X to make his stance clear. He wrote,
“I will not apologize. I am not afraid of this mob, and I will not hide under my bed waiting for this to end.”

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also demanded an apology from Kamra, stating that the state would not tolerate such things.

Kamra’s statement came after Shiv Sena workers protested and filed a police case against him over his comments about Shinde’s 2022 rebellion against the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. A video clip of his joke went viral on social media on Sunday, sparking outrage.
