Israeli Forces Raid Home of Al-Aqsa Imam Sheikh Ekrima Sabri

Ramallah, 19 February – (PIC): On Tuesday evening, Israeli forces raided the home of Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the imam and preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in occupied Jerusalem. They interrogated him and conducted a search of his residence.

Local sources reported that after a decision made last August, the Israeli forces had expelled Sheikh Sabri from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque for six months.

At that time, the Israeli occupying forces decided to ban Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, from entering the mosque for six months.

The decision to expel Sheikh Sabri from Jerusalem was made by the Israeli police in response to his tribute to the late Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh, during his Friday sermon.

Sheikh Sabri had stated that even after his arrest and expulsion from Al-Aqsa Mosque, the provocations against him did not stop. However, he emphasized that all plans and policies aimed at Judaizing the mosque would fail.
