IIIT Hyderabad Gets New Director After 12 Years; P.J. Narayanan Steps Down

Hyderabad, 13 July – (www.deccanlive.com): The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad is set to welcome a new director after 12 years. P.J. Narayanan, who has been serving as the director for over a decade, has announced that he will step down from his role and continue as a lecturer at the institute.

The Governing Council has appointed Professor Sandeep Shukla from IIT Kanpur as the new director of IIIT Hyderabad. He will officially take charge in August, as announced during the graduation ceremony held on July 12.

With Narayanan stepping aside, the path is now clear for Professor Shukla to lead the institute. Professor Shukla is a well-known expert in cyber security, with extensive experience in embedded systems and blockchain technology.

Speaking about his new role, Shukla said that he feels honored to become the director of such a prestigious institute and is ready to face the challenges and responsibilities ahead.
