4 Youth Arrested for Alleged Links with Al-Qaeda – Gujarat Police Action

Ahmedabad, 23 July – (www.deccanlive.com): The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested four young men for their alleged connections with Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The arrested have been identified as Mohd Faiq from Delhi, Mohd Fardeen from Ahmedabad, Sefullah Kureshi from Modasa in Aravalli district, and Zeeshan Ali from Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

According to sources, these four individuals were linked with an Al-Qaeda terror module for a long time. They were allegedly using social media platforms and suspicious applications to connect people with the terror group.

Gujarat ATS officials said that the arrested men not only held extremist views but were also promoting terrorist ideologies. Authorities have seized several social media handles and chats from them, which are now under investigation.

The ATS cyber team has intensified the probe. It has also been revealed that the accused were using apps with auto-delete messaging features to avoid detection of their communications and plans.

Officials said that complete details about the case will be shared soon in a press conference.
