A shocking incident took place in Hyderabad’s Old City where a younger brother allegedly killed his elder brother during a family dispute on Sunday night in Rein Bazaar.

According to police, the victim has been identified as Mohammed Habib Pasha alias Sameer (25), a resident of Aman Nagar. The accused, Mohammed Farooq Pasha alias Chotu Baba (22), is the younger brother of the deceased.

Police said their parents, Mohammed Razzaq (62) and Asha Begum (56), have two sons and three daughters. While the daughters are married, both sons worked at a bakery.

Family members informed police that Habib Pasha had recently been returning home in an intoxicated condition and often misbehaved with his mother and sister. Farooq Pasha had reportedly tried several times to stop his brother and advise him, which led to increasing tension between the two.

On Sunday night, another heated argument broke out after Habib Pasha allegedly abused family members while under the influence of alcohol. During the fight, Farooq Pasha allegedly attacked his elder brother with a knife.

Habib Pasha suffered serious injuries and died on the spot, police said.

After receiving information, Rein Bazaar police reached the scene and started an investigation. Police have not officially confirmed the arrest of the accused yet, but sources said that Farooq Pasha later surrendered before the police.

Further investigation is underway.
