‘Commander in Beef’: 700-Kg Buffalo Named ‘Donald Trump’ Becomes a Social Media Star in Bangladesh

As Eid-ul-Adha approaches, livestock markets become busy with buyers looking for animals for sacrifice. During this time, some animals become famous because of their high prices, while others attract attention due to their unusual size or appearance.
In Bangladesh, one buffalo has recently become very popular because of its unique name and striking look. People have been visiting in large numbers to see it and take pictures.
According to Media, this 700-kilogram albino buffalo with golden-colored hair has been nicknamed “Donald Trump” because its hair reminded people of the hairstyle of the former US president.
The buffalo belongs to 37-year-old farmer Ziauddin, who lives in Narayanganj district near the capital, Dhaka. He said his younger brother gave the animal this name because of its unusual hair.
Speaking from his farm, Ziauddin said many people had been visiting throughout May just to see the buffalo.
He also clarified that the only similarity between the buffalo and Donald Trump is the hair.
Huge Crowds Turned It Into a Star
The buffalo quickly became a local attraction and a social media sensation. Visitors crowded around the farm to take photos and videos of the giant animal.
Ziauddin said the buffalo is bathed four times a day and requires special care.
However, due to the constant crowds and stress, the buffalo started losing weight. Because of this, the owner had to stop public display of the animal. Even after restrictions, children still try to peek through the gates to catch a glimpse of it.
Visitors Travel Long Distances to See It
One visitor, Faisal Ahmed, was among those who managed to get close and take photos.
He said the buffalo really does have some resemblance to Donald Trump because of its hair.
Faisal came with his friends and family members. He shared that his nephew even traveled for about an hour by boat just to see the famous buffalo.
Not the Only Named Animal on the Farm
Although “Donald Trump” has become the most famous animal on social media, it is not the only specially named animal on the farm.
Other animals include:
- Toofan – a bull known for strength
- Fat Boy – a large-sized animal
- Sweet Boy – a gentle and calm bull
- Another golden-haired bull named after Brazilian football star Neymar
Looking at the buffalo with affection, Ziauddin said he will miss “Donald Trump,” but the true spirit of Eid-ul-Adha is sacrifice.
The unusual buffalo has now become one of Bangladesh’s most talked-about animals ahead of Eid.
