Bihar Election 2025 Phase: Polling Continues Across 122 Constituencies Amid Tight Security

The second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 is currently underway across 122 constituencies under tight security. Polling began at 7 AM on Tuesday and will continue till 5 PM, according to election officials.

As per the Election Commission, by 9 AM, around 14.55% voter turnout was recorded. More than 3.7 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise in this crucial phase. The fate of 1302 candidates will be sealed in the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by the end of the day.

Officials said there are 45,399 polling stations set up for the second phase. Out of the total voters, 1.95 crore are men, 1.74 crore are women, and 943 belong to the third gender. The Hisua constituency has the highest number of voters in this phase.

Enthusiasm among voters remains high, and officials expect the overall turnout to surpass the first phase, as seen in previous elections. Counting of votes will be held on November 14.

In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, out of these same 122 seats:

  • BJP won 42 seats,
  • RJD secured 33,
  • JD(U) bagged 20,
  • Congress won 11,
  • CPI (ML) and AIMIM won 5 seats each,
  • HAM won 4 seats,
  • BSP won 1 seat,
  • and one independent candidate had emerged victorious.

Security has been strengthened at all polling stations, and additional forces have been deployed to ensure peaceful and fair voting.

Authorities have urged citizens to step out and cast their votes responsibly, ensuring Bihar’s democratic spirit shines strong once again.
