Bollywood Legend Dharmendra Passes Away at 89 in Mumbai

The Indian film industry is mourning the loss of legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, who passed away on Monday night at the age of 89. The veteran star was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after facing serious breathing problems.

According to hospital sources, Dharmendra was admitted a few days ago due to respiratory complications. Despite the best efforts of doctors, his condition worsened and he breathed his last late Monday night.

The news of his passing has cast a shadow of grief over Bollywood. Several celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Hema Malini, and Esha Deol, rushed to the hospital to pay their last respects.

Fans and film personalities across the country have expressed deep sorrow on social media, calling it “the end of an era.” Many remembered Dharmendra for his charming smile, powerful screen presence, and humble personality.

Dharmendra began his film career in 1958 with the movie Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere. Over the years, he became one of Indian cinema’s most beloved stars, known for classics like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, Dharam Veer, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Yaadon Ki Baaraat.

With his dashing looks, strong dialogue delivery, and unique style, Dharmendra earned the title of “He-Man of Bollywood.” His passing marks an irreparable loss to Indian cinema.
