Hyderabad–Bengaluru Bus Fire Tragedy: Passenger List Released

The list of passengers who were traveling on the ill-fated V Kaveri Travels Volvo bus that caught fire near Kurnool has been released by authorities. The bus was on its way from Hyderabad to Bengaluru on Thursday night when it collided with a motorcycle near Chinna Tekuru (Kallur Mandal, Kurnool) and went up in flames.

The vehicle had 42 seats, most of which were occupied by passengers from various parts of Hyderabad, Khammam, Nellore, and Bengaluru. Officials confirmed that 19 bodies have been recovered so far, while several injured passengers are being treated in nearby hospitals.

🚨 Officials’ Statement

According to Kurnool Police, there were 43 people on board, including the crew. The fire erupted after the bus hit a motorcycle, quickly engulfing the entire vehicle. Firefighters managed to control the blaze after several hours of operation.

Kurnool District Collector Dr. Siri said:

“So far, 19 bodies have been retrieved. We are conducting DNA tests for identification. The injured are being provided with the best possible medical care.”
