Saudi Ministry Issues Guidelines for Umrah Visitors

Jeddah, 16 July – (K. N. Wasif): The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has issued important guidelines for Umrah pilgrims to ensure they can perform their rituals comfortably, even in large crowds.

According to the ministry, pilgrims visiting Masjid al-Haram should carry a smart (small and light) bag for their essential items. This will help avoid unnecessary burden and make their visit smoother.

As per Sabq News, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized that being peaceful and focused is very important while performing Umrah. Carrying unnecessary items can distract pilgrims and affect their devotion and concentration during the rituals.

The ministry further advised:

Safety comes first. Carry a small pouch or handbag that can fit:

  • Identification documents
  • Mobile phone
  • Face mask
  • Sanitizing tissue pack

Avoid carrying anything beyond that.

If the bag is too big, it becomes difficult to handle, causing inconvenience during the pilgrimage.

The ministry also reminded that lockers are available in the outer courtyards of Masjid al-Haram where visitors can safely store extra items before entering the mosque. However, it is best to leave all extra belongings in the hotel room so that one can worship with full concentration.
