Facebook Becomes a Weapon Against Palestinians; Deletes Thousands of Posts at Israel’s Request

Gaza, 12 April (www.deccanlive.com): Media reports say that Facebook, owned by the company Meta, has become a weapon used by Israel against Palestinians. Meta removed around 90,000 posts from Facebook and Instagram after requests from the Israeli government. These actions are part of a planned campaign against Palestinians.

The website DropSite, which focuses on political and war matters, said that Meta followed 94% of the requests sent by the Israeli government since October 7, 2023. These requests mostly claimed the posts were related to terrorism, violence, or incitement. Most of these posts were from users in Arab and Muslim countries.

DropSite also reported that over 90,000 posts were deleted by Meta after receiving requests from Israel.

This new report came shortly after another American website, The Grayzone, revealed that over 100 Israeli spies and former soldiers are working with Meta. These people are connected to a program that allows non-Israelis to volunteer in the Israeli army.

Earlier reports also showed that former Israeli spies have found jobs in big tech companies like Google. Their presence in these companies shows how pro-Israel voices have a strong influence in the U.S. government.

While the destruction in Gaza has continued since October 7, 2023, Israel and its supporters have also started an online war. They are trying to silence Palestinian voices on social media platforms around the world.
