Hyderabad: BJP Selects Gautam Rao as MLC Candidate for Local Bodies
Hyderabad, 4 April (www.deccanlive.com): The BJP has announced N. Gautam Rao as its candidate for the Hyderabad local bodies MLC (Member of Legislative Council) election. The party has released an official statement, confirming his nomination. Following this, Gautam Rao is set to file his nomination.
The Election Commission had already released the schedule last month for the Hyderabad local bodies MLC election, as the current MLC, Prabhakar Rao’s term ends on May 1. To fill this vacancy, a notification was issued on March 28.
The nomination process has begun, with key dates as follows:
- April 4 – Last date for filing nominations
- April 7 – Scrutiny of nominations
- April 9 – Deadline for withdrawing nominations
- April 23 – Polling from 8 AM to 4 PM
- April 25 – Vote counting and results announcement
The Election Commission has confirmed that results will be declared on April 25.
