Hyderabad: Young Woman Dies by Suicide After Marriage Proposals Fail Due to Family Situation

A tragic incident has come to light from Hyderabad, where a 26-year-old woman allegedly ended her life after suffering from emotional distress related to her marriage prospects.
The incident occurred under the Kukatpally Police Station limits and came to notice after her body was found in Hussain Sagar Lake.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Vijayalakshmi Toshniwal, a resident of Maithri Nagar in Kukatpally and originally from Kandlakoya in Medchal district. She lost her father at a young age, and her mother, Saraswathi, is reportedly mentally unwell. Vijayalakshmi was the sole caretaker of her mother and took full responsibility for her well-being.
Vijayalakshmi was working in an IT company. Recently, she received a few marriage proposals, but they did not move forward as she insisted that her mother must live with her after marriage. This situation reportedly caused her severe emotional stress.
On Saturday evening, Vijayalakshmi left her house and did not return. Her relative, Abhishek, filed a missing complaint on Sunday, following which police registered a missing case.
On Monday, her body was found floating in Hussain Sagar Lake. Lake police informed Kukatpally police, who later confirmed that the body was that of the missing woman.
Police have registered a case and are continuing further investigation.
