Loneliness Drives Retired Singareni Employee to Death in Telangana’s Mancherial

A tragic incident was reported from Ramakrishnapur in Mancherial district, where a 75-year-old retired Singareni employee ended his life, reportedly due to loneliness and prolonged personal struggles.

The deceased has been identified as Bacchu Sudarshan, a resident of Bhagat Singh Nagar. He worked with Singareni Collieries and took voluntary retirement in 2007 under the Golden Handshake scheme.

According to police, Sudarshan lost his wife to illness around 20 years ago. Despite the emotional setback, he ensured good education for his three sons and one daughter, and also arranged marriages for his daughter and eldest son. Over the years, his children moved away for work—his sons to Hyderabad and his daughter to her marital home—leaving him to live alone.

Police said Sudarshan had been living by himself for the past few years and was also suffering from health problems. Due to prolonged loneliness and declining health, he reportedly became depressed.

Two days before the incident, Sudarshan had spoken to his elder son over the phone and informed him that he wanted to come to Hyderabad. The son asked him to come after a couple of days. Sadly, before that could happen, Sudarshan died by suicide on Sunday.

When his children reached Ramakrishnapur after receiving the news, they were seen grieving deeply.

Ramakrishnapur SI Bhumesh said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

If you or someone you know is struggling with loneliness or mental health issues, please seek help from family, friends, or professional support services. You are not alone.
