Madhubani, Bihar | March 7, 2026 | DeccanLive.com

A shocking incident has come to light from Bihar’s Madhubani district, where a 38-year-old Muslim woman, Roshan Khatoon, died after allegedly being brutally assaulted by members of a village head’s family.

According to reports, Roshan Khatoon had gone to seek justice over a dispute when she was allegedly attacked by people linked to the village mukhiya’s (village head) family. The accused reportedly tied her to a pole and beat her severely.

She was later taken for treatment at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), where she died during treatment on 1st March.

Serious Allegations by Family

The victim’s family has made disturbing allegations about the incident. They claim that during the assault, Roshan Khatoon — who was observing Ramadan fasting — asked for water due to thirst.

However, the family alleges that she was instead forced to drink a mixture of alcohol and urine, which they described as an inhumane act.

Questions Over Police Response

The case has also raised concerns over police handling of the situation. According to reports, instead of immediately sending the injured woman to the hospital, she was allegedly made to sit at the police station for several hours.

Police have now registered an FIR against 17 people, including the son of the village head. Authorities said the main accused has been arrested, while further investigation is underway.

The victim’s family is demanding strict action and justice, calling for severe punishment for all those involved in the attack.
