12-Year-Old Mohammed Affan Dies by Suicide in Banjara Hills After Being Scolded for Skipping School

In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old boy died by suicide in the Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad after reportedly being scolded by his father for not attending school regularly.

The incident took place under the limits of Banjara Hills Police Station.

The deceased, identified as Mohammed Affan Khan (12), was a Class 5 student studying at a nearby private school. He was living with his father Irfan Khan in Syed Nagar, First Lancer area on Road No. 12. His father works as a wall painter to support the family. Affan had lost his mother at a young age and was being raised by his stepmother.

According to police sources, Affan was reportedly addicted to watching videos and playing games on his mobile phone. He had changed three schools earlier and was frequently skipping classes. His father had recently warned him not to spend too much time on the phone and asked him to attend school regularly.

On the night of February 24, around 11 pm, Irfan Khan and his wife had gone out to attend a relative’s funeral. During that time, Affan was alone at home. Police said he allegedly hanged himself from a ceiling fan using a saree in his room.

After receiving a complaint from the father, police registered a case and began an investigation into the incident.

The tragic death has left the family and local residents in deep shock.
