SRH Ticket Dispute: HCA President Jagan Mohan Rao Arrested by CID

Hyderabad, 9 July – (www.deccanlive.com): A major development has taken place in the dispute between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). HCA President Jaganmohan Rao has been arrested by the CID, along with some other HCA members.

The arrest was made based on a vigilance report related to an IPL ticket distribution controversy.

What Happened?

During the last IPL season, SRH had agreed to give 10% of tickets for free to HCA. However, Jaganmohan Rao allegedly demanded 20%. When SRH refused, HCA representatives locked the VIP gallery during an IPL match in protest.

This move angered the government, which ordered a vigilance inquiry into the matter.

What Did the Investigation Find?

The vigilance report claimed that HCA pressured SRH to provide more free tickets and even threatened them. Based on this report, the CID registered a case and arrested the HCA President and others involved.

The Sunrisers management was very upset and even warned that they might leave Hyderabad if the HCA’s behavior didn’t improve.
