The Air India flight IX 2884, scheduled to travel from Guwahati to Hyderabad, was cancelled due to unavoidable reasons, the airline officially announced.

The issue gained attention after Team India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj expressed strong dissatisfaction on social media regarding the repeated delays and lack of information. Following his complaint, Air India released a clarification and apologised to all passengers.

In its statement, Air India said, “We regret the cancellation caused by unavoidable circumstances. Our staff has made the necessary arrangements for passengers. We understand how difficult such situations can be and thank everyone for their patience. Our team will continue to assist until things return to normal.”

Earlier, Mohammed Siraj criticised the airline on his social media account, stating that the flight, scheduled to depart at 7:25 pm, was delayed continuously without any proper explanation.

He wrote that even after four hours, no updates were given to passengers, causing severe inconvenience. Siraj described it as the “worst airline experience” he had ever faced and said he would not recommend anyone to fly on that service.

The airline has assured that the matter is being addressed and necessary steps will be taken to avoid such incidents in the future.
