Mohammed Azharuddin Takes Charge as Telangana Minister for Minority Welfare

Senior Congress leader and former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin has officially taken charge as Telangana’s Minister for Minority Welfare and Public Enterprises. He assumed office on Monday, November 10, at his chamber in the Telangana Secretariat.

On this occasion, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and several Congress leaders were present to congratulate him.

Azharuddin had earlier taken oath as a minister on October 31 at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad. He was nominated as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) under the Governor’s quota, paving the way for his inclusion in the state cabinet.

With this appointment, Mohammed Azharuddin becomes the only Muslim minister in the Telangana cabinet.
