Shocking Incident in Telangana: Woman in Burqa Attempted to be Set on Fire in Public

Suryapet, 11 February – (DeccanLive.com): A horrifying incident took place in Telangana’s Huzurnagar, where a man tried to set a burqa-clad woman on fire in public. However, local people intervened and saved the woman’s life.

According to details, on Monday, February 10, a man named Sunder Pramod allegedly poured petrol on a burqa-clad woman near Kodar in Huzurnagar and attempted to set her on fire in broad daylight.

Media reports state that Huzurnagar SI Mathia said the 23-year-old woman from Khammam had been living with her uncle in Huzurnagar, Suryapet district, for the past three months. She was working in an office near Kodar. Sunder Pramod, who is from the woman’s native village, had been pressuring her to marry him for several days.

On Monday, Pramod attacked the woman with petrol in front of her office and allegedly tried to set her on fire. The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage.

Local people intervened and saved the woman’s life, handing Sunder Pramod over to the police. The woman filed a complaint at Huzurnagar police station, accusing Pramod of attempting to kill her.

Reports confirm that the police have registered a case.
