40,000 Palestinians Perform Friday Prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem (Occupied), 31 January (PIC): In the occupied city of Jerusalem, thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed the Friday (31st January) prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque despite Israeli restrictions.

The Islamic Waqf Authority confirmed that around 40,000 Muslims attended the Friday prayers at the Mazar-e-Sharif.

Israeli forces set up barriers to prevent Muslim worshipers from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially targeting many young people with violent attacks and checking their identity cards.

Israeli troops impose strict restrictions on entry to the mosque, particularly on Fridays, and prevent thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank from reaching Jerusalem to pray, as they need special permits to cross Israeli military checkpoints.
