The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the third phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across the country. Under this drive, voter lists in 16 states and 3 Union Territories will be revised to ensure that only eligible voters remain on the rolls and incorrect entries are removed.

According to the Election Commission, the process will begin in phases across different states. In states such as Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Manipur, door-to-door surveys will start from May 30.

In Telangana and Punjab, the survey process will be conducted from June 25 to July 24, 2026.

During the revision drive in Telangana, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit houses to collect voter details. As of May 12, 2026, the total number of registered voters in the state stands at 3,39,20,705.

The Election Commission also said that the process of reorganising polling stations in Telangana will be completed by July 24.

As per the official schedule, the draft voter list for Telangana will be published on July 31, 2026. Citizens can submit claims and objections from July 31 to August 30. Verification and disposal of objections will continue until September 28, while the final voter list will be released on October 1, 2026.

The Commission stated that nearly 3.94 lakh BLOs will participate in the process across the country. In addition, around 3.42 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties will assist in the survey and verification work.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar appealed to the public to cooperate fully during the SIR Phase-3 process and submit Enumeration Forms on time to make electoral rolls more transparent and accurate.

He also urged political parties to appoint BLAs at every polling booth to ensure complete transparency during the revision process.
