The results of the Bihar Assembly elections have almost become clear, and the NDA is heading for a record win. Out of 243 seats, the NDA is leading on 208 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan is ahead on only 29 seats.

Compared to the 2020 elections, the NDA is gaining more than 65 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan is losing almost the same number. The JDU, which had won only 43 seats last time, is now leading on over 75 seats, making it almost certain that Nitish Kumar may take oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time. The BJP is leading on 94 seats, making it the largest party in the state.

In the Mahagathbandhan, the RJD is ahead on 24 seats, while the Congress, which contested 61 seats, is leading on just one seat. Prashant Kishor’s party Jan Suraaj, which contested all 243 seats, is not leading anywhere. Mukesh Sahani’s party also has no lead so far.

Among major candidates, Tejashwi Yadav is trailing from Raghopur, and his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav is also behind from Mahua. JDU’s Vijay Chaudhary is leading from Sarayranjan, while RJD’s Osama Shahab is ahead from Raghunathpur.

Bahubali candidate Reetlal Yadav (RJD) is trailing from Danapur, and Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav (RJD) is also behind from Chhapra. On the other hand, BJP candidate and Bhojpuri singer Maithili Thakur is leading from Alinagar.

This year, Bihar recorded 67.10% voter turnout, which is nearly 10% higher than the 2020 elections — a new voting record.

The JDU also made a post on social media saying, “Nitish Kumar was, is, and will remain Chief Minister,” but deleted it after 20 minutes.
