A case has been registered against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and Hyderabad Youth Courage (HYC) founder at Banjara Hills Police Station for allegedly obstructing officials and spreading false information on social media.
According to police, the case was filed based on a complaint by Jubilee Hills Returning Officer Sai Ram. Salman Khan, a resident of Borabanda, had submitted his nomination for the Jubilee Hills by-election on behalf of the BRS party.
During the scrutiny of nominations on Wednesday, Salman Khan reportedly objected to the rejection of his nomination by the returning officer and used abusive and inappropriate language. He also alleged that pressure from the Congress party influenced the rejection of his nomination.
The returning officer described Salman Khan’s behavior as violating electoral rules, prompting the police to register a case and launch an investigation.
It is also noted that Salman Khan had joined the BRS on Thursday in the presence of KTR. The Banjara Hills Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
