Telangana Urdu Medium Schools to Operate on Half-Day Schedule During Ramadan

Hyderabad, 1 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Director of School Education, Telangana, has notified the Regional Joint Directors of School Education (RJDSE) in Hyderabad and Warangal, all District Education Officers (DEOs), and principals of DIET colleges about a change in school timings for Ramadan.

From March 2, 2025, to April 1, 2025 (inclusive), school hours will be from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This new schedule applies to all Urdu medium schools, Urdu sections in parallel medium schools, and Urdu sections in DIET colleges across the state.

School headmasters and principals have been directed to compensate for lost teaching hours due to the revised Ramadan schedule by conducting additional classes.

• Upper Primary and Secondary Schools will remain open for an extra day.
• Primary Schools will add 30 extra minutes to the school day on two working days, following the same practice as last year.

This decision has been approved by the Director of School Education, Telangana, Hyderabad.
