Hyderabad, 23 July – (www.deccanlive.com): A major scam involving the double-bedroom housing scheme has come to light in Telangana. Followers of MLAs and some officials have been exploiting poor people by promising them houses and collecting huge amounts of money.

On Wednesday (July 23), police arrested Haribabu, a former personal assistant (PA) who worked at the camp office of Quthbullapur MLA KP Vivekanand.

Haribabu allegedly collected lakhs of rupees from several people by claiming he would get them double-bedroom houses. One of the victims, Ramesh, filed a complaint at Jeedimetla Police Station, stating that Haribabu took money but never arranged the promised house.
