A heartbreaking incident took place in Bettadapura village, Periyapatna taluk of Mysuru district, where two sisters died after allegedly inhaling gas from a leaking geyser in their bathroom.

The deceased have been identified as Gulfam Taj (23) and Simran Taj (20). According to reports, the sisters had gone to take a bath together at their home when the tragedy occurred.

After a long time passed and the sisters didn’t come out, their father, Altaf, grew suspicious and knocked on the bathroom door several times. When there was no response, he broke open the door and found both daughters unconscious inside.

They were immediately rushed to a nearby government hospital, but doctors declared that both had died.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the bathroom had no ventilation or windows, which led to suffocation caused by the gas geyser leak.

The Periyapatna Police have registered a case and are conducting further investigation into the incident.
