Hazrat Shah Agha Mohammed Qasim Abu Al-Alai Passes Away in Hyderabad

It is with deep sorrow that we report the passing of Hazrat Shah Agha Mohammed Qasim Abu Al-Alai, the Sajjadah Nasheen (spiritual custodian) of Dargah Hazrat Shah Mohammed Hasan Abu Al-Alai, located in Aghapura, Hyderabad. He passed away on Sunday afternoon, November 10, after battling illness for several days.
Hazrat Shah Agha Mohammed Qasim Abu Al-Alai had been undergoing medical treatment at a hospital due to deteriorating health.
He was a close cousin of Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi, President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Member of Parliament from Hyderabad. He was also related to Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi, AIMIM Floor Leader in the Telangana Assembly, and Mr. Burhanuddin Owaisi, Editor-in-Chief of Daily Etemaad.
Following the news of his passing, a wave of grief spread among the people of the Deccan region, especially among those connected with Sufi circles and khanqahs.
