In a major step towards strengthening community policing, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar visited the historic Kotwal House in Purani Haveli on Friday. During his visit, he met with citizens, listened to their grievances directly, and issued instructions for immediate action.

Commissioner Sajjanar announced that he will personally meet residents of the Old City every Friday at Kotwal House, the former headquarters of Hyderabad City Police. The initiative aims to provide a platform for people to raise their concerns directly with the top official and ensure prompt solutions.

Speaking at the event, Sajjanar said, “The purpose of community policing is to listen to every citizen, respect them, and ensure their safety. Your problems are important to us. We will listen and solve them.”

Officials explained that the direct weekly meetings will not only help in resolving complaints quickly but also improve trust between citizens and the police. Residents will now have an opportunity to present their issues without delay and seek immediate redressal.

Kotwal House, a landmark in Hyderabad’s history, adds significance to this initiative. Once the central office of the city police, the building now serves as a symbolic bridge between the police and the public.

Sajjanar emphasized that such direct engagement will strengthen police-community relations and highlight Hyderabad’s heritage. Citizens are encouraged to make use of this opportunity and work hand in hand with the police to build a safer city.
