Israel’s Consul General for Midwest India, Yaniv Revach, has praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for its efforts in connecting young people with India’s cultural roots, heritage, and national history.
Speaking to the media in Nagpur on Tuesday, the Israeli diplomat said that observing the RSS activities closely was a valuable experience for him. He noted that for any country’s future, it is very important that the younger generation remains connected to its culture, traditions, and history. According to him, the RSS is working in an organised way to achieve this goal.
During his visit, Yaniv Revach toured the Smruti Mandir complex in the Reshimbagh area of Nagpur, which houses the memorial of Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the RSS. The visit holds special importance as it comes during the centenary year of the organisation.
After the visit, the Israeli diplomat shared his thoughts on social media platform X, saying it was an honour to visit the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. He described it as the place where the RSS journey began in 1925. He also paid tribute to RSS founder Dr Hedgewar and his successor Dr Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar.
In a statement, the RSS said that the Consul General was briefed about the historical, cultural, and ideological importance of the Smruti Mandir. He was informed that the site represents not only the life and work of the RSS founder but also serves as a source of inspiration for millions across the country.
The organisation added that the Israeli diplomat showed keen interest in learning about the RSS’s journey, social initiatives, and service activities. The visit, according to RSS, took place in a warm and respectful atmosphere, reflecting mutual respect and cultural understanding.
Political observers say that India-Israel relations have grown stronger in recent years, and this visit by an Israeli diplomat to the RSS headquarters is being seen as a sign of these evolving ties.
