Revanth Reddy & KTR Attend All-Party Meeting on Delimitation Led by Tamil Nadu CM Stalin

Chennai, 22 March – (www.deccanlive.com): An all-party meeting led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was held on Saturday to discuss concerns over the proposed delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies. The meeting, organized by DMK, brought together leaders from various states who believe that the process could be unfair to southern states.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, and BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) participated in the discussions. Other attendees included Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Shiromani Akali Dal President Balwinder Singh, and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.

Southern leaders, including Revanth Reddy and Stalin, have consistently opposed the BJP-led central government’s plan, arguing that a population-based delimitation would significantly increase the number of constituencies in northern states while reducing them in the south. They demand a fair and scientific method that does not disadvantage any state.

The meeting focused on strategies to pressure the central government to delay the delimitation process until an equitable solution is found. Meanwhile, BJP leaders criticized the gathering, with Tamilisai Soundararajan accusing opposition leaders of using it to divert attention from corruption issues. She also questioned why similar meetings were not held for pressing issues like the Cauvery water dispute.
