Telangana: Good News from Government – ₹2,500 Per Month for Women?

Hyderabad, 23 July – (www.deccanlive.com): The Telangana government is preparing to provide financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month to women above 18 years of age under the Maha Lakshmi scheme.

Currently, the government is already offering free bus travel for women, and now it plans to add direct cash support. Reports say this proposal will be discussed in the state cabinet meeting on July 25.

Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao has directed all departments to submit reports ahead of the meeting. The cabinet is also likely to discuss the pending BC reservation ordinance, which is still awaiting the Governor’s approval.

The Congress party had promised the Maha Lakshmi scheme during the elections, aiming to provide direct financial help to economically weaker women and bring a significant change in their lives.

If approved, eligible women will receive ₹2,500 every month directly into their bank accounts.
