A heartbreaking incident took place on Wednesday in Salampad village of Bodhan, where an 18-month-old baby girl died after coming under an auto.

According to police, a trader named Abdul Khader from Bodhan had come to the house to sell onions. The baby’s mother Ayesha Begum stepped outside to talk to him, and the child crawled out of the house behind her.

When the bargaining didn’t work out, Ayesha moved aside. Khader started his auto without noticing the baby in front of the vehicle. The auto tyre ran over the baby’s head, causing severe injuries. The child died on the spot.

The mother broke down in tears as the baby, who was playing just moments before, lay lifeless in front of her.

The rural SI said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
The deceased child was the third daughter of parents Irfan and Ayesha Begum from Salampad village.
