Heavy rain lashed several parts of the undivided Warangal district on Tuesday morning, bringing life to a standstill. The weather suddenly changed in Warangal city as strong winds accompanied by a heavy downpour drenched the area.

The rain, which lasted for nearly half an hour, flooded major roads, leading to traffic jams and inconvenience for commuters. At Enumamula Market, stocks of cotton and maize got soaked, leaving farmers distressed.

Residents in Warangal, Hanamkonda, and Kazipet are worried once again, as these areas are still recovering from the recent “Montha” cyclone floods. The fresh spell of rain has raised fears of waterlogging in low-lying colonies.

Meanwhile, steady rainfall has been reported across Jangaon district, including Station Ghanpur, Lingala Ghanpur, Tarigoppula, Narmetta, and Bachannapet mandals.
