Hyderabad Moon Sighting Committee to Decide Eid Al-Fitr Date on Sunday

Hyderabad, 30 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Sadar Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Deccan, also known as the Moon Sighting Committee, will hold a meeting on Sunday, March 30, at 6:00 PM to determine the date of Eid Al-Fitr in India.

The meeting will take place at Hussaini Building, Moazzam Jahi Market and will be led by Hazrat Maulana Syed Hassan Ibrahim Hussaini Qadri Sajjad Pasha, Secretary of Sadar Majlis Ulema Deccan.

Public Participation in Moon Sighting

To ensure an accurate decision, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has made special arrangements to observe the moon and collect reports efficiently.

Official Announcement After Verification

Once the reports are received, the committee will verify them according to Shariah guidelines before making an official announcement regarding the date of Eid Al-Fitr in India.

Eid Celebrations in India

The date of Eid-ul-Fitr depends on the sighting of the crescent moon. If the moon is sighted on March 30, Eid will be celebrated on March 31. Otherwise, it will be observed on April 1.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. The celebrations begin with special Eid prayers at mosques and Eidgahs.

Holiday Declaration in Telangana

Regardless of the final date, the Telangana government and educational institutions have declared holidays on March 31 and April 1 for Eid celebrations.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries have already confirmed the sighting of the Shawwal moon and are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today.
