Fake SBI Message Alert: Government Warns Customers to Stay Away from Fraudulent APK Links

New Delhi | November 18, 2025 | DeccanLive.com

Cybercriminals are once again targeting innocent people and trying to cheat them by using new tricks. This time, they are misusing the name of the State Bank of India (SBI) to fool account holders.

A fake message is spreading widely on social media, claiming to be from SBI. In the message, fraudsters are sending customers APK files and asking them to download and install the files on their mobile phones. The fake app then tells users to “update their Aadhaar details” or else their SBI YONO app will be blocked, and in some cases, people are being threatened to take immediate action.

The Government of India has responded to the issue and clearly stated that these messages are completely fake. Citizens have been advised not to trust such messages and to stay alert against any suspicious links, apps, or instructions received on social media or through SMS.

People are urged to contact their bank directly if they receive such messages and avoid downloading any unknown files that may put their personal and banking data at risk.
