CNG Prices Hiked Again; Fourth Increase in Just 12 Days

Vehicle owners are facing another fuel price shock as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices have been increased once again. This is the fourth hike in just 12 days, creating concern among daily commuters and transport operators.

With the latest revision on Tuesday, May 26, the price of CNG has gone up by ₹2 per kg. After the increase, the CNG price in the national capital has reached ₹83.09 per kg.

Oil companies said the price hike was necessary due to rising international natural gas prices and changes in supply conditions. However, the repeated increase has become a major burden for common people.

CNG is widely used in auto-rickshaws, cabs, and public transport buses. Due to the latest hike, travel fares may increase in the coming days. Experts say higher transport costs could also affect the prices of vegetables and other essential goods.

Many middle-class families had shifted to CNG vehicles to reduce fuel expenses, but the continuous increase in prices is now causing disappointment among consumers.

People are urging the government to step in and control fuel prices before transportation and household budgets become more difficult to manage.
