Telangana Government Likely to Increase Land Prices Across the State Soon

Hyderabad | February 3, 2026 | DeccanLive.com

The Telangana government is moving towards an important decision that could lead to an increase in land prices across the state. The Registration and Stamps Department has decided to conduct a detailed study on revising land values.

According to sources, the government may soon take a final call on increasing land rates. Similar discussions were held last year for areas inside the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad, where proposals were prepared to revise land values. Although reports were submitted and reviewed by officials, the government later kept the decision on hold.

Now, there are growing demands to revise land values not just in GHMC limits but across the entire state. Responding to this, the Registration and Stamps Department has begun a fresh study.

Impact on Property Buyers and Real Estate

If land prices are increased, registration charges and stamp duty fees will also rise. This is expected to have some impact on the real estate sector, especially on buyers and investors.

Officials say the government wants to take a well-planned decision after studying ground realities and revenue implications.

New Sub-Registrar Offices Planned

The Telangana government is also planning to set up new sub-registrar offices in areas that generate high revenue through registrations.

In addition, the government is working on creating integrated sub-registrar office complexes by bringing multiple offices under one roof. These buildings will handle:

  • Land registrations
  • Marriage registrations

Construction of such office complexes is already underway in several districts. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy recently laid foundation stones for some of these buildings.

Better Facilities for the Public

Once completed, these integrated offices will offer improved facilities, including:

  • Waiting halls for senior citizens and persons with disabilities
  • Special rooms for pregnant women and mothers
  • Marriage halls within the premises

The government plans to build integrated sub-registrar offices in every district to improve services and public convenience.
