Government’s Big Announcement on Property Tax Payment in Greater Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 8 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Telangana government has introduced a special facility for clearing outstanding property tax under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Once again, the government is offering 90% interest waiver for those who pay their full pending tax in one go under the One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme.

The Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration Department, Dana Kishore, has issued orders regarding this scheme. Citizens with pending property tax dues are advised to take advantage of this offer and clear their payments. According to the new announcement, for the financial year 2024-25, taxpayers need to pay only 10% of the total interest along with the principal tax amount.

Last year, when the OTS scheme was introduced, nearly one lakh property owners benefited from it and cleared their taxes. This time, GHMC aims to collect ₹2,000 crore through property tax. Authorities expect that this facility will help achieve the expected tax collection target.
