Police Officer Beaten to Death in Bihar While Arresting Criminal

Araria, 13 March – (www.deccanlive.com): A tragic incident took place in Bihar where a police officer was beaten to death by villagers while trying to arrest a criminal. Sub-Inspector Rajiv Kumar Mall, posted at Phulkaha police station, went to Lakshmipur village with his team late at night to arrest a wanted criminal. The team successfully apprehended the suspect, but a group of villagers intervened and freed him. During the confrontation, some individuals in the crowd attacked and brutally beat Rajiv Kumar.

The injured officer was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Following his death, there has been an uproar in the state, and the police department is in shock.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Anjani Kumar confirmed that Rajiv Kumar was injured in the scuffle and collapsed. Despite receiving medical treatment, he could not survive. The incident has sparked tension in the region, and further investigations are underway.
