In the high-profile death case of actress-model Twisha Sharma, her husband and main accused, Samarth Singh, was presented before the Bhopal District Court on Saturday. The court approved a 7-day police remand for Samarth and also ordered the seizure of his passport following a request from Twisha’s family.

Samarth was brought to Bhopal from Jabalpur late Friday night around 2 AM. He was kept at Katara Hills police station under tight security. Before being taken to court, police also conducted his medical examination at JP Hospital in Bhopal.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage of Twisha Sharma’s final makeup session has surfaced. In the video, she is seen getting ready at a beauty parlour located near her in-laws’ house. According to reports, she appeared calm and normal. Police have seized the footage as part of the investigation.

Photos have also emerged from the section of Twisha’s house in Bhopal’s Katara Hills where her body was found. During the investigation, police found that on May 12, Twisha had booked a reserved ticket on the Bhopal-Jaipur Express and was scheduled to travel to Ajmer on May 15, where her brother Major Harshit Sharma is posted.

Family Alleges Murder

Twisha Sharma, 31, died under suspicious circumstances at her in-laws’ house on May 12. She was the daughter-in-law of retired judge Giribala Singh and lived in Bhopal’s Bagmugalia Extension. Her husband Samarth Singh is a lawyer.

Her in-laws initially claimed that she died by suicide by hanging. However, Twisha’s family accused her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh of murder.

Twisha’s WhatsApp chats also reportedly went viral, where she allegedly wrote to her mother saying she felt suffocated and emotionally distressed.

AIIMS Team to Conduct Second Postmortem

The Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered a second postmortem in the case. A medical board formed by AIIMS Delhi, led by senior forensic experts, is expected to reach Bhopal and conduct the postmortem using advanced equipment. The entire process is likely to be video recorded.

Police Say Investigation is Fair and Unbiased

Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar said the police are conducting a fair and impartial investigation. He stated that Samarth Singh will be questioned in detail about the night of the incident, family disputes, mobile chats, call records, and his activities while he was allegedly absconding.

Police will also investigate who may have helped him during that period.

The commissioner added that retired judge Giribala Singh has been sent notices three times for questioning, but she has not appeared. Police have now moved court seeking cancellation of her anticipatory bail.

Samarth’s Law License Suspended

Samarth Singh had surrendered in Jabalpur District Court on Friday, where Bhopal Police arrested him.

Following the controversy, the Bar Council of India (BCI) suspended Samarth Singh’s law license with immediate effect.

SIT Investigating Every Angle

A Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by ACP Rajneesh Kashyap Kaul, is investigating the case. Police said Samarth will be questioned about where he stayed while absconding, who helped him, and complete details of the incident day.

Authorities also revealed that Samarth had changed his appearance during his alleged escape. Usually seen clean-shaven and in formal clothes, he appeared with a light beard, casual jeans-shirt, cap, and face mask to avoid identification.

Family Raises Questions on Police Action

Twisha’s brother-in-law, Saurabh Sharma, accused Bhopal Police of protecting the accused because of their influence. He claimed the family was repeatedly misled and mentally pressured during the investigation.

He also questioned how Samarth managed to travel from Bhopal to Jabalpur despite lookout notices and police presence.

High Court Orders Fresh Postmortem, CBI Probe Recommended

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed a second postmortem of Twisha Sharma’s body at AIIMS Bhopal under the supervision of AIIMS Delhi experts.

The state government has also written to the central government recommending a CBI investigation into the case.

The case remains under intense scrutiny as police continue to investigate all possible angles.
