GHMC Reorganisation: Hyderabad Divided into 6 Zones, 30 Circles and 150 Wards

After announcing the division of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) into three separate corporations, the Telangana government has now finalised the new zones and circles under GHMC.

As part of the reorganisation, GHMC has been split into three municipal bodies — GHMC, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), and Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC). Following this major decision, the government has also released official maps showing the newly structured zones and circles.

Under the new structure, GHMC will now have:

Total Zones: 06
Total Circles: 30
Total Wards: 150

The Six GHMC Zones Are:

  1. Shamshabad Zone
  2. Rajendranagar Zone
  3. Charminar Zone
  4. Golkonda Zone
  5. Khairatabad Zone
  6. Secunderabad Zone

SHAMSHABAD ZONE
4 Circles | 17 Wards

15 – Adibatla – 4 Wards
16 – Badangpet – 6 Wards
17 – Jalpally – 3 Wards
18 – Shamshabad – 4 Wards

RAJENDRANAGAR ZONE
6 Circles | 29 Wards

19 – Rajendra Nagar – 4 Wards
20 – Attapur – 6 Wards
21 – Bahadurpura – 5 Wards
22 – Falaknuma – 4 Wards
23 – Chandrayangutta – 5 Wards
24 – Jangammet – 5 Wards

CHARMINAR ZONE
5 Circles | 25 Wards

25 – Santosh Nagar – 4 Wards
26 – Yakutpura – 6 Wards
27 – Malakpet – 4 Wards

The reorganisation aims to improve administration, ensure better civic services, and manage Hyderabad’s growing urban population more efficiently.

With the new structure in place, further administrative changes and appointments are expected in the coming days.
