A shocking case of cheating has come to light in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, where a man allegedly cheated a Group-1 job aspirant by promising to secure him a government job.
According to the police, the accused, Syed Haider Hussain, claimed that he could arrange a Group-1 job by using high-level political contacts. He reportedly introduced himself as a former OSD (Officer on Special Duty) to Abdul Kalam and showed photos with leaders in Delhi to gain the victim’s trust.
Believing his words, the victim paid the accused around ₹7 lakh in several installments. However, after the Group-1 examinations were cancelled twice, the aspirant asked for his money back.
The accused asked for more time to return the money. When the victim insisted on repayment through a cheque, the accused allegedly started threatening him with death.
Fearing for his safety, the victim approached the Banjara Hills Police Station and filed a complaint. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
Officials have advised job seekers to be careful and not fall prey to such fraudsters who exploit the dreams of unemployed youth.
