Heavy Rains Cause Chaos in Hyderabad: Roads Flooded, Traffic Disrupted

Hyderabad, 7 August – (www.deccanlive.com): Heavy rains have once again caused chaos in Hyderabad city. On August 7, 2025, around 6:45 PM, a sudden downpour began, turning roads into streams within just five minutes.
Several areas including Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Hitech City, LB Nagar, Nagole, Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram, and Abdullapurmet saw intense rainfall, leading to waterlogging and flooding on roads.
As the rain began during peak office hours, people returning home faced severe traffic problems. Traffic is moving slowly in Panjagutta, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Hitech City, and IKEA surroundings. Other areas like Dilsukhnagar, Malakpet, Attapur, Kothapet, and Champapet are also experiencing heavy showers.
The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that the rain is likely to continue till midnight.
In Old City areas such as Santosh Nagar, Chandrayangutta, Kanchanbagh, Shalibanda, and Chatrinaka, water has entered low-lying residential zones, making life difficult for residents. Many vehicles have stopped on the roadside due to waterlogged streets.
Chatrinaka’s Rajanna Bavi, Shivaji Nagar, Shivaganga Nagar, and nearby places are witnessing strong floodwater flow.
Other parts of the city like Secunderabad, Cantonment, Uppal, Boduppal, Peerzadiguda, Habsiguda, Ramanthapur, Tarnaka, Osmania University, and Nacharam are also being hit by heavy rain.
Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid travel if possible. Authorities are on alert to handle any emergencies.
