Bangladesh Air Force Plane Crashes into School in Dhaka – 19 Dead, 164 Injured

Dhaka, 21 July – (www.deccanlive.com): A Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crashed into a school building in Dhaka on Monday. According to a report by the International Press, the crash led to the deaths of 19 people. Among those who died were 16 students, 2 teachers, and the pilot of the aircraft.

More than 164 people have been injured in the incident. Over 60 of the seriously injured have been shifted to a burn institute for treatment. Others with minor injuries are being treated at Uttara Medical College.

A video has surfaced showing some injured people being taken to hospitals on hand-pulled carts. Some of the injured children were also airlifted by helicopter to hospitals.

The government has declared a one-day national mourning following the tragic incident. At the time of the crash, regular classes were ongoing and hundreds of students were present in the school building.

The Bangladesh military has confirmed that the crashed aircraft was an F-7 BGI jet, which was manufactured in China.
