Telangana is reeling under severe heatwave conditions as soaring temperatures continue to trouble people across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the extreme heat is likely to continue for the next four days.

For the first time, the weather department has issued a Red Alert for parts of Telangana due to the possibility of very severe heatwave conditions.

The districts placed under Red Alert are Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam, where extremely severe heatwave conditions are expected.

The IMD has also issued an Orange Alert for eight districts, including Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda, warning of severe heatwave conditions.

Yellow Alert has been issued for Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, and Jangaon districts.

People across Telangana are struggling with the intense heat, with roads and towns appearing almost deserted during afternoon hours. Officials have advised the public to avoid stepping out unnecessarily, especially between 11 AM and 4 PM.

Authorities have also asked people to stay hydrated and take special care of children, elderly persons, and pregnant women during the ongoing heatwave.
